The Remix culture or the art of improving things.

We are living in the era of the Internet and with the arrival of this new technology, it also came a completely way of see things. In other words, a different paradigm of how people interact with each other.

Internet represents the exact meaning of the word "technology" which is in a simple way of saying: making better every single thing that we know by using, changing, upgrading or creating new tools to be use in every aspect of daily life.

Trying to apply the same rules or restrictions for a new way of interaction like this (internet), it's just simply going back to the pass, to an era of darkness and stupidity, it's like living in the middle age where everything was ruled by the rule of the stronger.

I was looking for something to watch and I found a very interesting documentary that explains better what I was talking about: "Rip a remix manifesto".

I always wanted to watch it but I never had the time to do it:

I always thought about the remix as a new way of improving things, I actually have the feeling that most of the times, a remix version sounds better and is something that I will always prefer instead of the original.

The remix for me, is also a way of knowing songs or artist that are part of the mainstream that in normal conditions I will never listening to.

Here there are a few examples of what I'm talking about:

A remix of it, which is cooler:

Another one:

A better version of this song:

BTW, have a happy Easter!!

You still look shit all alone!!

Guess what?

After all these years that I've been working on a personal projects without telling anybody, I decided to start here all over again . This time I better do something or delete this blog forever if don't write here often.

Anyway, now is time get some new music.

This is Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaur or just simply: T.E.E.D

He's an English electronic dance music record producer and DJ according to the Wikipedia

His debut album Trouble was released on 11 June 2012. The album includes five pre-released singles including "Household Goods" and "You Need Me On My Own".

The lyrics are not the brightest but the beat has everything that you need to get up and dance, or at least do what Mr. Orlando Higginbottom does in his video with his very expressive face. I think this is the best part of the video and I really like his enthusiasm while he's dancing.

Make some beats!

Well, I'm here ones again and guess what? I spent all weekend including monday with my new friends, making music.
These guys have their own music studio so the first thing that came to my mind was to start making my own beats.
I have to downloading some music programs, libraries, samples and more. And also I thought that maybe if I show here some links to download music and stuff like that, I will get someday a few comments here, ha ha.
Recently I discovered my love for the chiptunes music, 8 bit music, lo-fi music, etc. In other words, same terrific music. Well the fact is, this kind of music will be my final goal, that means that I will end it up making some chiptunes for everybody but meanwhile I have to learn many, many, many things about electronic music.
Part of these tools to improve my abilities, are the software and I have begun with the FL Studio and Reason, but everybody knows that if you want to do something good, you have to take all the possibilities and options that you can, as well explore every single thing that pops up.

These are some software to use to make some 8 bit noise: the Little sound Dj and the Nanoloop, the Little sound Dj  and can be download directly from its home page and other sites of the web, unfortunately, the Nanoloop can only be download from a torrent track, but all you have to do is use a client for torrents files and download it for Demonoid.

Here there are some libraries:Magical 8bit plug and Chip32.

Maybe next week I will share my music here but, by now on you can download some tracks here , this compilation it's a zip file from beatport and the link is from DDJ blog; track 02 a remix of kam denny and paul zala it's my favorite.

And Finally more music by Binarpilot one of my favorites djs.

Enjoy!

I love 8 bit music!!

I always loved the electronic music, and also I loved to play Nintendo, but now I can get both in a single awesome fusion: the 8 bit music. Thinking about that, I found the Blipfestival . Here the main topics of the event are: Archaic game and home computer hardware with a four-day event showcasing nearly 40 musicians and visual artists occupying the international low-res cutting edge.

In the Festival, Devices such as the Nintendo Entertainment System, Commodore 64, Atari ST, Nintendo Game Boy, among others, are the popular musical instruments. The Blipfestival is part of the activities of the 8bitpeoples.

The 8bitpeoples first came together in 1999 as a collective of artists sharing a common love for classic videogames and an approach to music which reflected this obsession. The primary interests were to provide quality music for free and most importantly to have fun. In the years since, they have grown in rank and expanded their goals.

From hard-pumping dance electro to atmospheric pieces, even the nostalgia of the vintage, artists like:Crystal Castles, Binarpilot and Pornophonique used this technique.

Here it comes Again!!

Well, ones again I'm here on friday the 13th, a spooky weekend?, no I don't think so,  It's actually my birthday.
I don't know how or why but, one of the reasons why I actually decided to write ones again here, is the number of Cybernauts who oftenly visit this blog. My last post here was on October 11 of 2006 Almost 2 years ago, WTF??
So, I cannot explain what happens here, where are they come from?, maybe it's a difficult question. And maybe this in not the weirdest thing here, maybe the strange thing are the places that they where come from. To see what I'm talking about, take a look of this: Only on this month I had 40 visitors and in the last month the number is almost the same (50 visitors ) For example:

Number of unique visitors per day

for: 7-June-2008
Germany 3
30%
Japan 1
10%
Thailand 1
10%
U.S.A. 5
50%
These are some of the countries: South Korea, Netherlands, Ukraine, Taiwan , Uzbekistan, Israel, Spain, Argentina, Poland, Czech Republic, Sweden, Brazil, Puerto Rico?, Thailand, Vietnam, India, Russian Federation ... I don't have any link or reference (only in vimeo) about my blog, so I can assume that something strange is happening here.
Well, to finish my first and short post, you have to listen the music of two English funny guys: Exposed by observers,They are my newest friends on myspace, his music is an incredible mix of pure energy, electric sounds and great beats. This is the link: www.myspace.com/exposedbyobservers PS. If you are one of them who visit my page from a far country, please tell me how do you know about this blog.

-Special K Remenbrance-

When I think about the old times I have to think about the music of that moment, I mean, probably you haven't heart about good music if you don't know Placebo's music. Here is one of the most popular video songs of them: "Special K".
